Title: Zoom H4n external battery power
Post by: BlingFree on April 12, 2011, 06:53:05 PM
I've been looking for external battery options for the Zoom H4n and was wondering if anyone has any answers to the questions left by using the following setup...

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062253
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102598

The H4n is powered by 2xAA batteries or a 5v 1A (1000mAh?). So you buy the above items, wire them together and fill them with 4xAAs @ 2000mAh then you have 4.8v @ 8000 mAh?

Does that loosely mean something that has a draw of 1000mHah would last 8 hours? with 8000mAh?

No one has posted if the above box even works... much less how much more operation time was gained from using the battery box.

I know with the H4 my buddy had this rechargable RC battery from Radio Shack and that thing lasted like 26 hours. Would be great to have that, really.

Anyone have any input?

That setup does work. I get around 3hrs. running 4 channel ( phantom on) with NiMh AA's. Use 4 C's or D's to get more. Easy DIY project.
