Title: MOD RC 9.6v NiMH battery for DPA MMA6000?
Post by: SClassical on November 02, 2013, 01:15:13 PM
hi i need to make a small external battery that will make the MMA6000 last for a 6hrs or so. would a 9.6 RC NiMH battery work with the MMA6000 is i change the connector to a 9V flat connector? I dont want to use the 12-30v input. I want to use the 9V input. Hope someone has done it and could confirm its safe and workable. thanks.

An MMA6000 will run for 15-20 hours on an internal 9V.  Why are you looking for a 6 hour external battery?

I use ordinary Duracell alkalines in the MMA6000, but where I need rechargeables in other preamps I use the PowerEx 9V from Maha, they come in 8.4V and 9.6V varieties.  The advantage of the alkalines is that when the MMA6000 low battery light (red) comes on I still get about 3 hours before shutdown.
