Title: RX9 vs Wavepad Audio Editor
Post by: Flynn on February 05, 2022, 01:40:58 PM
I have access to both Wavepad Audio Editor and RX9 Standard edition.

I have a recording in 32 bit. RX9 is telling me that RX9 standard does not handle multi channel files. However if I put the file into wavepad and convert from 5.1 to stereo re-save, I can open the file in RX9.

My Question.

Is there any value to converting the file from 5.1 to stereo just to be able to open and edit in RX9? Can wavepad accomplish the same goals as RX9? Mainly I want to boost volume and clean up a bit. The recording has some wind issues.

Any thoughts or suggestions??

I am not familiar with Wavepad, but the fastest way I have found is to open the WAV file in Audacity and separate it into stereo tracks and export as a 32 bit file. Then you can edit in RX.

Thanks David. Sorry for the late response. I was on vacation and distracted. You're workaround worked fine. I even went back through some of MY own posts where I essentially asked the same question and you answered there also. MAN what can I say.  :banging head: My memory is on a razors edge I guess. Everyday is a new day.
