ZOOM AMS

(1/1)

ol' dirty taper:
Just saw this announcement today and the unit looks pretty good.

https://zoomcorp.com/en/us/audio-interface/audio-interfaces/ams-series/

They have single, dual, and quad input models, and affordable, all under $200.

Reminds me of the size and form factor a bit of the F3, minus the recording ability and 32 bit as well as the screen replaced with knobs.

Could be fun to mess around with one.

vibrioidxire:
Might be a competitor for Focusrite's Scarlett series, though AMS provides less features...

voltronic:
Until now, the clear competitor to Focusrite Scarlett has been the MOTU M series. The one very useful thing they all have in common though is a loopback mix function. I use this all the time on my M2, and it is quite rare on interfaces. I would say that specs-wise, the AMS does not appear to be quite in the same league as Focusrite and MOTU.

One other thing I noticed looking at the specs is that the AMS-22 has a different preamp compared to the others in the series, and notably has a low max mic input level. That's probably fine, as it's intended for podcasting.

Colin Liston:
Can you connect this to your phone to record onto your phone?
