I have not had a chance to run this combo myself, but I have been listening to alot of shows on the internet archive that have used this set-up. To my ears, I think that this is a great sounding combo.
Of course, there is more gear to carry in your bag than going with a V3 or Mini-Me exclusively.
IMO, I find that the V2/Mini-Me combo sounds better than running a V3 or a Mini-Me by themselves. Again, this opinion was only formed by the recordings I have listened to on the Archive.
The microphones you run in front are also a major factor. What type of mics do you want to run in front?
I would perform a search for recordings on the Archive that use this combo. Type in V2, minime, or mini-me as the keywords and a bunch of shows will come up.
