Does camera set off metal detector?
« on: September 02, 2007, 03:16:30 AM »
In larger shows where there are either hand held metal scanners, or the "archway" overhead scanning device, do camera often set the alarm off?
I'd appreciate if you could describe how large your camera was and what kind of device was set off, or any ways to combat this.

As far as I know it should not be a problem, camcorders are mainly made of plastic (don't know if it's the right word), but it's not made of much metal. Metal detectors are set to find knifes and such and it shouldn't go off on beltbuckles. I guess it depends on the intensity of the detector, but in general it should not be a problem (same with mini discs)
