This is less than 10 sec clip of what my right channel of this recording has been doing. Maybe i had a loose connection? I dunno.
Can you all take a listen and tell me what would cause this and if it is fixable?

crazy. looks like right channel has peaks visible at 18k (tallest) 17k 16k, 15k.... all multiples of 1000!?
Is this all happening in the recorder?

This is the noise right at 5.6 seconds in the right channel, correct? Yes, every 1000 Hz. Here's what the SPAN spectrum looks like (right channel in red).
Yes, you can filter it out by creating notch filters for each peak. I use Reaper ReaEQ plugin (free).
To me, this sounds like cell phone interference. I'm not sure if the newer phones cause problems, but I've heard plenty of this on my older recordings when I was using the 2-wire, unbalanced cables that come connected to Church Audio mics.
At a minimum, try to recreate the issue with your phone and if that's a source, make sure your phone is off when recording.
Turning the gain up or down on the recorder probably won't have much of an impact since the noise is getting into your mics and/or cables, before it hits the preamps.

These were at subcards three wire mini XLR into Naiant Tinybox into m10. I already eliminated recorder from being the issue since I have several recordings before and after that did not exhibit this. I record with this setup all the time. Noticed it right away on the recording and can not duplicate it at home!? Weird. Probably just a fluke I guess or some crazy cell interference...boo

Hmmm i only hear it in the right channel, your hearing must be better than mine :shrug:

I recently discovered that my M10 creates noise from the front plate (the main control chip is behind the buttons) if I have the 3.5mm cable running over the buttons, as when I have it in my pocket. Using a good shielded cable and being aware of routing helps.

My hearing ain't all that. I just don't hear any noise in the right that I don't also hear in the left. I don't hear any whine, but I do hear consistent interference in the form of a clicking sound.
In fact, I found out a couple years ago that I don't really hear much over 10k. Others in the room were screaming STOP before I heard anything at all at 12k.
