I am looking to buy stealth stereo mics for about $350 or less.
I would like to have xlr because it will be used with the Zoom H4 and it doesn't have mini inputs.
They definitely have to sound better than the internal mics which at times sound pretty good already.
I just want better sound. I have seen these but haven't heard anything about them...

Does anyone know anything about these? Are they really better than the internal mics?
I am also considering...http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/f43693e797dfbe09/index.html
I know it's not really stealth but I'm wondering if the quality is really good. I heard one recording with it and it sounded pretty good.
Does anyone know about it?
Are there any other suggestions? Thank You.

those flexibars on that look cool and stuff... but not very stealthy... unless you are recording at a TiVo convention i guess you could put your recorder under a hat and stick those up through... :)
did you look at this idea...
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-ZOOM-PHANTOM = $79
This will power a number of plugin power type mics...
leaves you $271
if you want cards, see below...if you want omnis... SP has those too... call SP and tell them what type of music you want to record and they will help you.
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-CMC-8 = $249 + $20 for light cables
you will have to decide the SPL options you will need for what you want to record... call Chris @ SP and he will guide you... nice guy in my experience.
OR
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-CMC-4U = $199 + any extras you want
OR

I use AudioTechnica 943s (aka SP-CMC-8) with cardioid caps, which I bought from Sound Professionals more than two years ago, and I've been extremely happy with them. They're very small, very natural sounding, perform well in moderately high SPL situations with just plug-in power, and have remarkably good bass response for their size. You can get them from Sound Professionals with XLR connectors for use with phantom power for less than $350. Here's an mp3 of something I recorded with them recently (Sharp IM80-MD recorder, no EQ):

And I agree -- talk to Sound Professionals about what you're looking for, they'll fix you up!

Get some Church Audio STC-11's and a Church Audio BAT-2B Battery box.
Then all you'd need is one of these... (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/images/items/160630.jpg) Hosa CYX402.
IMO you can't beat the quality for the price..
Church Audio STC-11 -- $109.99 (from Chris' ebay site)
Church Audio BAT-2B -- $39.99 (from Chris' ebay site)
Hosa CYX402 -- about $15
So probably still under $200 total including shipping..

Thanks for all the help.
I'm still undecided but I received alot of help here.
I have to decide on preamps and or how I will go from mini to xlr.
There are many good looking options.
I may get to try some mics next week.
Thanks again. :)
