Title: Can I use Pro-Tools 8 LE without Digidesign hardware??

In a moment a stupidity I let my girlfriend take my m-box for the weekend so she can record a practice session.... I now have a project I need to work on in PT8 and I totally forgot you have to have Digidesign hardware attached to open PT..... Does anyone know a way around this? I really need to do some work on this project and unfortunately I can not get my box back until mon.-tues. I have my install disc if that helps.

Sorry, you are out of luck. PT is locked to a few different hardware types. The standard PT LE only runs with a few Digidesign boxes. The PT M-powered runs with a few other boxes, mainly M-Audio but also with a few Mackie firewire mixers. That's it.

In contrast, most of the other programs has the license on a dongle and runs on any hardware you throw to them. I suggest you change software as soon as possible.

Why would I change software??..... I actually plan on upgrading to an 003 system soon so PT is here to stay. I guess I just need to get an mbox micro and let her take that on the road when she needs it.

LOL..... well she actually HAS her own setup but it is not very mobile like the m-box is. =)
