Title: FW 410 input level control
Post by: dklein on June 10, 2004, 02:41:37 PM
When running 4 tracks in, is there any way to control input levels on the line inputs?

i.e. mics use external gain knobs to control levels (inputs 1/2)
then run soundboard to inputs 3/4 - are the levels controllable through the 410 (software?)  or do you need to adjust them outside the box

Inputs 3/4 are digital only, so there is no level adjusting on the box.  You may be able to mess with the levels in the control panel, though I've never tried.

Aha, I see.  I thought the '4' in 410 stood for 4 analog inputs.  So when people do a matrix on this box, you need an external a>d for the board source, whether you're doing it live or recording in 4 track for post-mix.

I guess this is not the box for me.  The search continues! Thanks.

Nope, the 4 stands for 4 inputs, 2 of which are digital.  ;)

Good luck on your search ;D
