Title: Rolls Mx-51? Need a mixer for on the fly matrixes.
Post by: Sanjay on February 27, 2006, 01:22:30 AM
So I need a cheap mixer for two source on the fly matrixes.  I know this has 4 but it seems a cheap compact solution to this.  Anyone tried it, or have any input?

The MX51 is a small 4 channel mixer with individual volume controls, headphone and line outs. It has 2 1/4" inputs and 3 sets of stereo RCA inputs that are mixed to MONO. It has enough gain and output level for a power amp, has 2 RCA and one 1/4" output, and is powered by an included A/C adapter.

Specification:

Input Impedance: 10K Ohms unbal. each jack
CH 1 Gain: 32 dB 1/4" jack (max gain)
CH 2 Gain: 26dB 1/4" RCA
CH 3 and 4 Gain: 26dB each RCA
Output: 1/4" stereo and RCA
S/N Ratio: 90 dB
THD: .008%
IMD(SMPTE): .008%
Power: 12VDC adapter
Weight: 1 lb. (.45Kg)
Size: 3" x 5" x 1.25"
(8 x 13x x 3.2)

That sums 3 line level to Mono...

Look at the Samson Mixpad 4 if you need a DC powered device...

If AC is ok - then there are lot of small mixers out there - I love my Yamaha 10 channel mixer!

Never used the MX51, almost bought it at one time, but didn't since it lacks pan controls on the channels. I've used the Rolls MX28 for 6 years now for matrix projects etc. It's compact and 100% portable.
