Alkaline?  Lithium?  Rechargeables?

With alkalines, I've often run into bad batches, where brand new ones don't last worth diddly.  Never used single-use lithium's much, but I assume the same can happen with them.  And every so often I used to get a bad charge on a pair of AA NiMH.  No battery's perfect, IME.  Though I've yet to experience problems with my 9v universal DVD lithium batteries (knock on wood),

good questions.  They were alkalines.  Unless I got a bad lot or something they were completely useless.  I have always used either energizer lithiums or duracell alkalines neither of which have I ever had a problem with.  look what happened when I thought I could save a few pennies.  I lost the moment.

edit to state that they were in different packages however, I did not look to see if they were the same lot #
