Title: Trouble with M-Audio Audiophile Delta @ 48khz...freeze
Post by: hexyjones on July 08, 2004, 09:59:06 AM
I am borrowing this from a friend to start archiving my DAT collection...

Setup: D7 > Oade Cable > Audiophile > Capture using CD Wave

I can capture 44.1 streams no problem...

If I change the rate to 48 (in the Delta Control panel and CD Wave) the machine will lock up or crash CD Wave...

Am I missing a step?...I haven't made sure I have the most recent drivers...but I will...

Change settings in the Delta panel, then close, then open CD wave and change settings, then hook up the DAT.  Sometimes the puter doesn't like you to change settings in the Delta panel while applications are using it.  That sequence may help...  In Wavelab sometimes I have to change the settings for recording, then shut it down and re-open it.  Don't know if that goes for CD wave too or not.  For sure get the new drivers.  Good luck.

Or,

You could get audacity from sourceforge.net, for starters. Superior to CDWave for capturing, i think, and you can still use CDWave to track it, even though i believe audacity splits on sector boundaries. (It is freeware.)

Good Luck,

Newest CD Wave splits on sector boundaries as well.

I am a regular Audacity user....I'll try that...

CD Wave...I thought that the whole point of CD Wave was proper sector boundry chops? They have been making that claim as long as I have known the product....were they wrong?

Crap - I'm still using CD Wave 1.82 -

Updating the software/drivers did the trick... ;)
