winamp and media player problems....
« on: January 29, 2004, 02:39:46 PM »
both worked fine last night.  now when I try and play
something in either one it will play for about 1-2
seconds.  then it pauses and starts over in the same
spot.  I updated and ran norton, ran my spyware stuff,
rebooted etc.  nothing has worked.  thoughts??

reinstall the programs...have you tried multiple file types, like wav, flac, shn, cd?  does it happen on all media types?  maybe try defragging your drive also if reinstalling doesn't help.

yes all media types.  just defragd a few days ago.  now it's working again.  no idea why.  put some track in cd wav to see if they would play.  they did.  then opened up a flac file and it played fine in winamp.  wtf??

did you reboot after the problem occurred?  maybe just a weird glitch...
