Title: I've got hot levels with drum solo clipping..
Post by: Chanher on March 06, 2004, 10:08:55 PM
I'm running CEP and I'm familiar with all of the Clip Restoration features and how to tweak them.  The levels are great in the rest of the set with only one, maybe two peaks eeking past 0 dB. Do you recommend I apply Clip Restoration techniques to the 7 sec. highlighted selection or to the entire set?

id say work the really small section and then take a listen using about 10 second boundaries to check how it sounds, if you cant really tell the difference then just leave it at that- im a fan of the less processing the better

yeah I can't tell much because of my crummy pc playback (I need to learn the art of playback gear on a non-existant budget) but maybe I'll burn sample of the treated area and listen high-end-consumer speakers.

if you wanna make me two really short clips uncompressed- one with and one without the sampling, i can take a listen on my tannoy reveals and let you know what i think, but in the end its YOUR ears that matter more than mine :-)
