Weird night for a great tape
« on: March 09, 2004, 12:45:54 AM »
So lately I've been having what seems like a problem everytime I go out.  Been getting kinda discouraged.  Went to a show last night.  My AKGs are on loan to Olyrc.  So I decide to run the ATs through the UA-5 like 'old times'.  Get over to Mel's house and we decide to run his omnis through the UA-5 instead.  So now I'm down to ATs -> Bat Box -> D7.  Definately top 5 tape I've ever made!

Fire rekindled.   :pepper:

My last outing I ran my SP modded AT933s (earlier version of what you have I think) > SP BB > AD-20 and I think it also sounds great! I've been toying with getting some "real" mics again, but since I don't get out all that much and these sound pretty nice to me, I keep coming back to them!

One of my fave recordings was done with an AT9400 -> MXB1002 -> D7.  In case some don't recall, the AT9400 is a pos plastic chassis XY binaural, AA battery in the handle, unbalanced outputs.  The recording came out sounding like a multitrack though!  My NT4 arrived the next day...
