Topic: Newbie needs help with first show transfer

My first time taping last night at a local coffee shop went very well overall. I have it transferred over in .wav form and need to know how to splice into tracks, and edit some background noise(coffee grinders, telephones, door chimes) out with Cool Edit Pro 2.0. Thanks

Maybe I am in a minority here, but I kinda like a little background noise in my recordings... I think it adds a nice ambience.  

I know you said you were recording a quiet show though, so I can understand why you wouldn't want a frickin coffee-grinder in the middle of it...

How did you set up the mics for your recording?

I kinda had an awkward setup for the show. The guy who was playing has an acoustic amp that has speakers on three sides, I ended up towards the right side of his amp. He was to the left of the amp with no mic, so all vocals were a little low. I had my mics in kinda a DIN setup, but aimed my left mic up a little more to try and catch a bit more of the vocals. I think it sounds really, really good overall, however I'm going to need a new t-bar I think this one I've got ain't gonna cut it.
