anyone networking their Denon?
« on: July 03, 2009, 02:03:47 AM »
im having issues getting it recognize my recordings and general flac files also.  i did a firmware upgrade today with no better results.  it claims (and ive played) flac files, it must be a tagging issue?  i have made sure all sharing is allowed.  any ideas or Denon users with tips?

FWIW it plays almost all mp3 files so far.....?

im still having issues with this, anyone have theirs networked yet?  it wont play anything but mp3's, but it clearly states flac support in the manual but has no help section to back it up.  it was playing flacs at my old house, but since we moved and at the same time ive had to rebuild my PC it no longer does.  also seems picky about what mp3's it will event play.  it will only play 4 songs off Sirens from the Ditch, im guessing its some kind of tagging issue?  its very frustrating to say the least.

Is there a firmware update available from their site?

not sure as of right now, but i did a firmware update after moved a couple months ago so its recent.  im not sure if it was that update or the new WMP installed on the new PC but one of the 2 is to blame i think.  i did the plugin add on to WMP 11 so it plays flacs, and updated al my library files.

we had company over last night and i wanted to play some of my recordings and couldnt which has me motivated to fix this issue.

were you using a specific UPNP server before you rebuilt your PC?

If you are running WMP11 you may need to adjust the settings.  I believe that it's UPNP server is not enabled by default.

to my knowledge i wasnt, but i just looked and i cant find that setting anywhere.  i assume i make the change with in WM11, right?  it drives me nuts that i cant use it to its full potential.
