Repair Fostex Fr2 Le preamp in Europe/Portugal
« on: June 30, 2012, 11:25:45 AM »
Hi all,

Do you know in Southern Europe, or even Spain (near Portugal), someone who can repair the Left preamp of a Fostex FR2 LE, it just does lots or random noise, and without any reason... sick of this piece of shit recorder,
very nice preamps when they don't have noise crackles or high freq stuff going on, plastic all over the place... i guess i got a malfunction unit...

thanks in advance.

Areyou sure it is not the cables or mics? Have you tried other cables or mics or using the internal mics. I do not know anyone in Europe, but just wanted to be sure you have isolated the problem. Hopefully someone will have a contact for you. Good luck!

Hello,

Thanks George2, in the prospective of sending the unit to Spain for repair, I just opened it, its a mess of metal boards, circuits, and tested with it wide exposed and the noise was gone, somehow it was electric noise, some inside cable with bad connection or touching something it shoudn´t, but now is nice again.
My conclusion is: avoid this unit, is very badly constructed... despite the good preamps...

Thanks to you all.

I don't agree, this is a good piece of gear. I own it, have used it professionally.
