Also, do a search on S502 here on ts.com and you'll find a number of threads discussing it.

I looked at the eBay ad and thought that something looked ... awfully familiar.

Attached below are Schoeps' polar diagram for the MK 4V capsule and next to it, Superlux's polar diagram that is supposedly for the capsules in this microphone. I wonder whether anyone else sees the resemblence.

However, the characteristics of these diagrams clearly indicate a radial rather than an axial design ...

This one should've showed up as well. 1st show I did with the 502. Pleasantly surprised.

wow the sense of space with this recording is amazing.  You can close your eyes and pick out where the instruments are...  great recoding!

I actually ordered one of these yesterday just to see how it is, to have a convenient stereo microphone for non-critical recordings or situations in which I don't want to risk my good microphones, and maybe even to send it to some people I know to have its performance measured for real. But today I got a refund and a sincere apology from the seller ("audiohipster"), explaining that these mikes are on back order for maybe two to six weeks. I've asked him to let me know when he has them again.

That's very kind, but this is a very low-priority "project"--more idle curiosity than anything else--so I would prefer to wait, and then maybe by the time the mikes are available again I won't even be so interested any more. That would be ideal in a certain sense.
