WaveLab 5 Update to version 5.01b now available ! (beta)

Dear WaveLab users,

Wavelab 5.01a proved to be very stable and only showed minor problems. For a long time there had been no need to release an update, but today we would like to announce the availability of the public beta version of Wavelab 5.01b. The main reason for this public beta version is that we would give our customers the chance to take advantage of the support for the Algorithmix reNOVAtor™ plugin.

>Click here for more details about reNOVAtor™<

Other improvements include:

· Audio Montage: Improved envelope editing. When changing the level of multiples envelopes simultaneously, or when changing the level of a single envelope with multiple points, then each point/envelope is shifted by a decibel amount, while before the change was more exponential. This new behaviour is more “sound-perception oriented” than visually oriented. This new behaviour concerns level and effect-send envelopes.
· Improved DVD-Audio compatibility for disks with pictures.
· Master Section: the DVD-Audio 5.1 to stereo/mono down-mixing simulation was not working correctly (when pressing the stereo/mono button).
· When loading a WAV file with unknown header chunks, these ones were lost when saving the file later.
· MP2 files with the “m44” file extension are now supported.
· Audio Montage: panning of mono tracks did not work correctly.
· Audio Montage: When rendering clips, the output bit resolution was limited to 16 bit in certain cases.
· AIFF 32 bit float files: fades did not work properly.
· MPEG Audio files embedded in WAV files could not be played correctly in preview contexts.
· Updated CDR driver.

If you don't experience any problems with your current 5.01a version and you do not intend to use the reNOVAtor plugin we recommend not using this beta version. Please note that this version will not be supported by our customer support team.

This update requires an already installed WL5 version and will ask you to insert your original WL5 installation CD.

This file will be also installed with the updater.

Best regards,
Your Steinberg team

Anyone tried the renovator plug yet?  Sounds like something that would be of interest to folks 'round here.

Hey Kory,
Haven't been able to get my hands on this plug yet, but I agree, It looks promising.  Always wary of artifacts tho.
