mic configuration question for a dummy
« on: August 25, 2007, 02:06:48 PM »
So I was running my AKG 391's  DIN but I read on Oade bros site(http://www.oade.com/Tapers_Section/micsetupnos.html)  that wasnt a good idea.
If I were to place them XY or ORTF would the mic that pointed at the left stack (my right) go into
the left xlr jack on my mixer? and the same for the mic facing the right stack.
This probably seems like a stoopid question I know but I am a bit confused..
Anyone know what is the best way to place  a pair of AKG 391's?
thanks for any help

Not an expert by any means but as I understand it...

Left Stack = Left Channel
Right Stack = Right channel

Otherwise everything is gonna sound reversed, sort of.

Which I think was what you said in the first place so I should have just said "Yes"

I was under the assumption that as a taper, we're all geeks?  I just thought it went with the territory?
