Title: Need a cable please...
Post by: pwig on April 06, 2012, 10:57:35 PM

I am purchasing a pair of AT 853 mics. They have the stock 25 foot cables that terminate in a female mini-xlr connection. They will include the battery packs. I also have a CA 9100 preamp. What cable will I need to run to my PCM-M10 or R09 please?

Probably an 1/8inch to 1/8inch. Depends on your output on the 9100. Darktrain here on his sight will hook you up.

Well if you are going to use the battery packs, then a duel female xlr to a single mini plug , that will go into the 9100 and then a mini plug to mini plug from the 9100 to the recorder

Would a dual male mini-xlr to single mini plug with a 4.7 mod build in be feasible? Then he wouldn't need the battery packs when using a small rig.

I could probably use a cable like that myself if it would work & you're willing to make one (just an adapter cable-very short). Then I could run my AT853's directly into my M10 and leave my CA9200 with 4.7 mod out of the chain when I wanted a rid as small as possible.

I may or may not use the battery packs - would the same plug be used even without them and just using the 9100. Is this something you would be willing to make and how much would you charge please?

Does your 9100 have mini xlr inputs? Then all you would need is a cable from your 9100 to your recorder 1/8 male to 1/8 male, pm me if interested.
