Title: Summer 2010 Live Phish-48k/24bit?
Post by: Weirdness on August 22, 2010, 03:33:18 PM
I want to make sure that it's not my gear that is downsampling for some reason on the summer Live Phish HD Flac releases.

My Lavry DAC is lighting up 48k on all of the summer shows that I have, whereas my 8 HD Flacs are 96k.

I checked the FAQ on Live Phish and it states that the HD Flacs are 96/24 but that's not to say that they haven't made the change to save bandwidth or whatever.

Can anyone confirm for me that they have made this change?  Thanks...

The summer HD files are 24/48.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Apparently the 8 shows were the only 96/24 versions that were released according to a buddy that I emailed about this as well.  Too bad if they're the same price but still nice that there are 24 bit versions out there.  It'll be interesting to do some 44.1/16 and 48/24 comparisons for sure.

this is correct.  the LivePhish 24 bit files from Festival 8 were 24/96.  but everything after that (including the entire Fall '09 tour, the New Years '09 run, and both legs of Summer 2010) have been 24/48.
