what software are you using / do you have?
wavelab's dither uses the apogee uvhr22 algorithm.  sound forge can also dither.  do you need specific instructions on what to click to get it done?

i use soundforge 7.0 and figured out how to dither i'm just looking to see what that "best" dithering scheme is.  i might have to pick up wavelab and use uv22hr

uv22hr in wavelab *should* be the same as the minime being set to dither to 16 bit...  pm me if you need help finding a "Demo" version

I posted this yesterday mistakenly in the wrong post.  This post is probably more appropriate anyway.  After listening to these i wouldn't even consider using Sound forge for dithering, you be your own judge though.

("the Waves L2 IDR dither (DirectX plugin) is pretty sweet."  MattD taken from the wavelcrash thread)

Speeking of dithering, did anyone see this post on Oades a while back.  http://www.24-96.net/dither/blind_shootout.htm  It's a blind dither test.  I chose 5 & narrowed them down in order before i submitted the 1 liked the best.  I did like 2 of the waves plug-ins but i liked the MBM's better.  Just wondering what you guys thought as well.  Also does anyone know if there is an affordable plug in pack of just dither algo's for either waves or MBM?

wow, according to the results on that blind test, uvhr22 got its ass spanked!

the real questions are who voted, on what playback system and do they have a clue?

Up to a point, it doesn't matter. If you can hear the artifacts on a shitty system, you are also likely to hear it on a good system.

I was surprised at how low I ranked the POW-r methods, as I'd heard good things about them and used #3 myself for a while.
