V3 24/96 interface
« on: March 24, 2003, 09:30:17 AM »
Has anyone heard about a timetable for the 24/96 interface (USB 2.x, 1394, etc..)??  It bothers me to no end that you pay for these boxes for the capabilty of 24/96, but you can't use it to its full potential.  Technology will be constantly changing so you really can't "wait" for a better connection when one right now might look better, but in time something else may come along.  Better to put something in it now that allows you to use the device to its fullest and allow for uupdates at a later time.  I see this with HT as well, but you can't wait forever!

You've been listening to my gripes for a while I see :P.
I've been waiting as well. I'd love to pick up a V3 but the lack of a interface bums me out. The MMe has the usb which would work, but if it's not totally capable of being able to run full 24/96 I see no need to "Upgrade" from my UA5. Which will do 24/96 over the USB 1.1.  I know it must not be a major item for Grace, but I think they would take the market if they had such an interface now. With the addition of High Resolution HD recorders comming into their own soon. Seems like a logical step. Oh well, I'll keep using my UA5 for awhile. Work on new mics first.

Both the Minime and V3 will output 24/96 via s/pdif just fine :)

Well duh!  (jk) I'm aware of this, but then you still need to spend another $300 to get it into a laptop right...
