OMG I'm posting again!!!
My DR70D has a loose USB; has this happened to anyone and if so how did you fix it? Did you do it yourself and solder a new port onto the board (not my jam) or send to Tascam? My battery compartment isn't working despite a couple of cleanings after an exploded battery incident, so right now the unit is a nice paperweight....

Man, that sucks to hear. I have no advice, but as a DR-70d owner I feel like this is a matter of time for all these devices. Hope you can get it working again.

I just spoke to Sal at tapelectronics.com and he guesstimated just under $100 to replace the port off the main board (assuming that's the only issue). Sending the unit this weekend!

How did this work out ? Have a Tascam DR-100mk3 with the same issue......have a ph# by chance ?
