Title: Graham patten adc 20/48
Post by: bagtagsell on December 17, 2004, 12:35:10 AM
I did the serach, couldn't find anything (probably didn't use the right initials) anyway...These are on sale at OADE, r they a good stealth adc.  Thinking of putting it behind a mp-2 and mbho actives

(edited cause I'm a moron, and never learned to spell)

mbho actives now? you slut ;)

imo it is too bright, i dont care for it, but i havent heard much mp2 > adc20

you can get them used for 1/4 of the price oade is selling them for. im sure someone is sitting on one

it's great with an mp-2, first full rig i ran.  not too stealthy, but if you really wanted to...  gp has moved onto the adc-24, here's link, most of the specs should be the same, save for 24bit:  http://www.gpsys.com/products/adc24.htm

$150. shipped

i think the adc20 would be a bad match with the mbho's. in my small experience with them, they are pretty bright mics compared to some we use.

i will have some ka200/603a > v3 tapes up on archive tomorrow. i love this combo!

mp2 > mod-sbm1 would be very nice i think. but they might be too dark, unless you want that.

i absolutely love my new mbho actives. i seriously cant see myself getting rid of these for a long time/ if at all

that's because the company name is Graham Patten and not "pattern".  no "r" :)

Agreed...the MBHO>MP2>ADC20 is a great combo.  There are a number of WEEN shows out there done with this combo...JKEATS runs it.

I ran that combo for a while and wish I didn't.  Go with the smb-1.  I have a lot of recordings if you want to hear some.  It is thin and harsh for my ears.  For 150 it's a new toy.  That is why I got one.  However, every other ad I had the chance to A/B I liked better than the adc-20.  You get what you pay for.  my cd list is at phishhook.com/lsits/airbladder.  PM me.

ran mbho>mp-2>adc20 for awhile, the mp-2 cut the brightness of the mics and a/d nicely. good combo.

John- I don't think I'm gonna buy it...sorry. I made a recording MP-2 > JB3 the other night and I'm satisfied for now...until I can save up for a modSBM-1 or V3. Thanks anyway!
