well, ive did all i can think of to no avail
ive reinstalled the thing 2 times, and am using the most current drivers, im running xp pro
i have a stock soundcard that isnt removeable on my pc. and when i disable it, then soundforge wont let me record with anything
with both of them enabled, SF 6.0 gives me the option to use the "c media audio device" which is the dio 2448, but wont show any signs of input weither via coax or analog input
anyone have any ideas at all? ive got this crispy JMP w/fishman tape that needs transferred and spread! just waiting to do it digitally!
Please Help!
Dustin

dustin, have you gone to the control panel in windows and checked to see that all your input and output devices are set to the dio and not the onboard stuff?
-
have you gone into the card settings and selected s/pdif input?
-
the "c media audio device" is NOT the m-audio unit, but rather the onboard sound
-
my onboard sound is an "ess ellegro unit"
i dont have any settings for the card on my pc, and when i disable the ess elegro, it wont let me record with SF 6.0 because it says there are no recording devices
thanks god im buying a laptop in the next 2-3 days, this stuff is annoying
-
when i uninstall it, and try to install it, it wont let me use the dio2448 drivers from m audio's site
i am using xp pro,a nd it wants to search for drivers on the internet, when it searches, it comes back with the "c media" drivers
any ideas? xp is just SHIT, i bet it i were running any other OS this wouldnt be happening
-
weird thats its coming up as c-media instead of m-audio .
is the dio a delta series card? if so I have some older versions that were stable
-
i believe it is a delta series card, i have the dio 2448 drivers from the m audio site, the pc just wont let me use them, it says the drivers arent correct. ive tryed making it use those drivers and it wont work
-
Dustin, I too had trouble installing a 2448 in my new PC and getting it to show any SPDIF options. I ended up downloading a driver for a Zoltrix Nightengale (sp?) and that did the trick so that I could finally see S/PDIF options. Might be worth a shot.

im on that!
+T for the info!!!
-
EDIT: its a no go on any zoltrix nightengale drivers, cant find them
tryed using different drivers from the m-audio site, especially delta 2496 and still a no go
this is going nowhere fast :-\
-
I dont think that the dio2448 is compatible with XP.
I used one on a 2000 machine, and I never upgraded to XP for that reason.
-
FWIW-im about to ditch the card and buy a brand new audiophile 2496
-
well if you're into trying drivers, grab them direct from cmedia
Go here and grab the drivers and the audio rack (it has the mixer app)
http://www.cmedia.com.tw/download/OS-e-cmi8738_WDM_OS.htm (http://www.cmedia.com.tw/download/OS-e-cmi8738_WDM_OS.htm)
Also, have you disabled your onboard sound card in the bios?
-
I don't know if you tried these but go to this link:
http://www.zoltrix.com/
Click on "Q&A/Downloads" and then click on "Nightingale Sound Driver" and try one of the drivers there that have "optical" in the name. I can't recall if I'm using the 4-channel driver or the 6-channel driver. It says on that page that Zoltrix doesn't write or upgrade soundcard drivers so these might just be off-the-shelf cmedia drivers but they did the trick for me at least. -d
update: Looks like the one you want is this file: NG180_WDM.zip
