How does the output from these mics compare to other condensers? Low, High?

I would say low, at least compared to other mics i've used/owned.  I have to goose my UA5 pretty high to get good levels.

I run CM300's > Nak MX-100 > UA-5 > JB3.  Using the MX-100 in front of the UA-5 helps boost the signal a little bit and also that way I dont need to have the UA-5 gain knobs almost cranked. yeah, its more gear to carry (and the ole MX-100 is heavy), but it also helps w/ setting levels since the MX-100 knobs are a little more forgiving than the UA-5's are.
But to answer the original question, they do run kind of low, so the UA-5 levels need to be quite high.  IMHO.
I love the Nak's for the price though.

HEY THAT WAS MY IDEA!!! Exactly one of the best way to run these mics is WITH the MX-100 in front of the main pre. The output from the MX-100 is not very hot and can be dirrectly input into most mic pre sections without a pad. If you thought the CM-300's had a low output you should see what my mod CM-700's put out!! Its what finally drove me to buy a V3. I can CRANK that V3 up and get almost no noise....

Yes, that was Sammy's idea..... and it has worked great.
+T's to LoS and the Nak users!!
