Title: Fixing a low input
Post by: brownm84 on October 09, 2008, 06:01:38 PM
While taping a YMSB show last night the battery box batteries began to fail.  As a result there is about 15 minutes of a signal but it is very weak.  Is there anyway to bring this section up to the rest of the show?  I know I can amplify the section but there is curve as the mics lost power gradually (actually the power source showed a strong signal but then lost power fast over the next few minutes) so it is not a linear amplification. I use Audacity but have access to a few other programs via friends. If it can't be fixed no problem as other tapers were present but would like to post another source. Only about 45 seconds were lost while changing batteries. Thanks in advance.
Matt

Audacity's Volume Envelope should do the trick.
