Ok so ive been way out of loop on this thing..I set up channels 1 & 2 for LINE in from the Sonosax..where should i run the 1 & 2 channel gain on the Mix Pre 6??...Just 0db im assuming..Im running the sax gain on LOW. seems to be working fine, i just dont want any noise.
Also what kind of battery life will i get with the running phantom and using 2x 9 volts? i always ran an external but in this situation wnat to run batts.

Phantom provided by the SX-M2 should run 4-5 hours on a pair of Neumann KM140's or DPA 4021 on two Alkaline 9V cells. If you push it you might get poor performance as the batteries are dying.
You may find that you want some gain out of the MixPre if you are not hitting reasonable record levels like -12 dB or better at peaks.
You could also knob up some gain from the 'Sax if that's convenient. It's made to have nice clean gain, I'm sure!
But if you link channels on the MixPre, it might be a smoother volume change than trying to get both channels changed on the Sonosax simultaneously.

Use these batteries in my sonosax - have recorded with them for 3+ hours and never had a problem with them running out of power.
Powerex Precharged 9.6V 230mAh
https://www.amazon.com/Powerex-Self-Discharge-Precharged-Rechargeable-MHR9VP/dp/B01FV0U5WG
Gutbucket recommended them they are over 9 volts, come Pre-charged and are slow discharge.
