Tascam DR70D - loose USB port - fix locally or with Tascam?
« on: October 04, 2021, 12:35:20 PM »
OMG I'm posting again!!!

My DR70D has a loose USB; has this happened to anyone and if so how did you fix it?  Did you do it yourself and solder a new port onto the board (not my jam) or send to Tascam?  My battery compartment isn't working despite a couple of cleanings after an exploded battery incident, so right now the unit is a nice paperweight....

Man, that sucks to hear. I have no advice, but as a DR-70d owner I feel like this is a matter of time for all these devices. Hope you can get it working again.

Thanks man!

I just spoke to Sal at tapelectronics.com and he guesstimated just under $100 to replace the port off the main board (assuming that's the only issue).  Sending the unit this weekend!
