Mini-Me Problem
« on: April 02, 2005, 10:40:21 AM »
i used my mini-me last night(Mic. input) and my right channel is way hotter than my left. i had to turn the right chn almost all the way off and the left was at about 11 o'clock. at set break i switched left and right mics.around and the problem stayed on the right channel.the tape sounds fine. anyone have any thoughts on this?or heard of this problem. i'm guessing i'm gotting to have to send it in for repair >:(

You may have had one of the knob set-screws come loose.  When I first got mine, and set the internal jumpers, I noticed the set-screws were only marginally tight.  This may be something to check prior to trying to send it in.  You might also want to e-mail Gary over at Apogee to see if he has any thoughts on this problem you are having.

Good luck...

Check the set-screws as Dan suggests, and also swap the mics L/R to see if the problem follows the mic.

I say one of the calpots is turned up higher than the other....he did switch the mics around at set break, still in the same channel after that.

i did e-mail apogee. i don't think the set-screws are loose because when move the gain nob over to line-in it clicks right where it should. i'm taping again tonight we'll see how it goes.
thanks guys

Any chance you have the jumper set to high gain on the left and low on the right?

Please tell us if this happens again and if Apogee has anything to say about it.

that sucks, makes me think of the the one time I used my TL's at a summer show. For a few hours one channel was running way hotter than the other. Tore down, went back to my car, set up the next day and everything was fine and it never happened again.

It wasn't covered under warranty?  That's the pits.
