While I've had no direct experience with either Sonic Studios products or sales, I've always liked the tapes I've heard with their DSM-6 stealth mics.

On the other hand, they link to their own "portable power solution" for the Microtrack...at the low, low cost of $175   :o :o

Gotta love their retro website, looks like Geocities site from 1995.
Right now nothing...in the past: Schoeps CMC6, AKG 480, AKG 460, AKG 414, MBHO 603a, Neumann KM100, ADK TL>Schoeps MK4, Schoeps MK2, Schoeps MK41, AKG ck61, AKG ck62, AKG ck63, Neumann AK40, Neumann AK50, MBHO ka200>Lunatec V2, Lunatec V3, Apogee Mini-Me, Oade M148, Oade M248, Sound Devices MP2, Sonosax SXM2>Sony (mod)SBM1, Apogee AD500>D7, D8, D100, M1, R1, R4, R09, iRiver HP120, Microtrack

Microtrack deck draws power directly from an internal 3.7V lithium-polymer battery of about 1150mAh capacity (as reported in taperssection.com newsgroup). Unfortunately, it's buried inside a 'Chinese puzzle' of a plastic case, and seems not (easily) owner accessible. Measuring deck's power consumption required reading milliamperes current power draw from external USB power supply.

Nice find.  That chart with the "missing VU calibrations" is especially helpful.  Wish M-Audio would add that for real.....

I dealt with Sonic Studios and Leonard several times in the early/mid 90's. I purchased a set of Leonard's stealth mics way back when and they sounded excellent and were very well made. Back in the early days of the net  when I was first starting to tape, Leonards website and advice were invaluable.
