Sony Sonicstage/MD simple burner Linear PCM transfer problems
« on: November 03, 2010, 08:39:59 AM »
Hello!

Does anybody have experience of the most recent versions of Sonicstage 4.3 for use in transfering Linear PCM footage (from HI-MD) into a PC and then onto CD?

I had some success in the past with the 3.4 version from '05 but I can't get 4.3 to copy back to CD for ANYTHING!

It starts to transfer and just at 50% in the process where the CD (D drive) kicks in it gives an error message of "cannot transfer"

When blank media is loaded the machine auto displays a series of options for formatting the disc and such which is outside the Sonicstage program which I just ignore allowing Sonicstage to do the "CD Drive Check". This runs for a few minutes and gets to "retrieving media information" at which point it just seems to stall. I have to cancel it to continue.

Furthermore has anybody had anysuccess in the "Music Transfer" software for Mac and managing to transfer back to CD?
