I ordered a new mobo and cpu from Tigerdirect today.  I built this computer 3 years ago.  Time to splurge, even if that doesn't fix the problem.

Just be sure that the PSU isn't the root of the problem.  If a bad PSU has killed one motherboard, I'm pretty sure it won't have any problems doing it to another.

new mobo and cpu and the problem was solved.  BTW I also switched out power supplies on the old board and it still didn't work.
