ISO: cheap 24 bit audio DVD player

I need to buy a cheap dvd player that will do 24 bit audio. Anybody have suggestions?

Anyone of the Oppos already mentioned or a Denon 1920.  They got replaced by a new model this year so you can find new ones on the cheap.

believe it or not,.... I'm still running the old toshiba 4960

Nope, Optical out.

Why would a DVD player ever hae optical in? it's meant to play DVD's not be a DAC.  Is that normal?

Burn recordings to CD/DVD...play on Oppo 970 and...voila!...instant DAC (heh, well...sorta).  8)
