They are using standalone preamps for these tests. Since most ENG mixers are a combination of mixers and preamps, and usually not used in a studio, they aren't included.

i'm quite surprised at the V3's location.  I dont find much flavor in that preamp at all.  the A/D has more of a sound to it than the preamps do, imo.
