Rick:
Anyone recently had any problems with getting gear inside for a Nickel Creek :guitarist: show? Just wondering how good they've been about informing venues.

Thanks!

Brian Skalinder:
Caught 'em in Pittsburgh and Cleveland, no problems getting gear in.  If you have a problem, ask for the tour manager - dang, I forget his name.

If you're gonna run up front, keep everything very low profile til the lights go down, otherwise you're likely to get booted to the back of the venue.  They don't like people running up front blocking people's views.  Though they usually play in small enough places that even the back of the venue sounds nice.

Good luck!

Rick:
Thanks for the info....

keeping low-profile shouldn't be a problem with the MBHOs on a single schoeps shockmount ;) I think I'll use my bogan 3373 stand too.

John Kelly:
I had no problems getting gear into their NorVA show (had problems with the tape, though).  I'd recommend getting as close as possible, as every time they do an encore they do it acoustic at the lip of the stage, no amps/speakers at all.

Rick:
How big was the place? I'm seeing them at a pretty big venue and If they play "unplugged", the people in the back wont be able to hear them. Plus its reserved seating so I'm as close as I can get anyways, 8th row.
