HIDIZS DAP
« on: June 26, 2019, 06:02:04 PM »
Anybody have any experience with HIDIZS players? I'm looking for a small DAP to replace my Sansa Clip and to move up to midrange.  I have my eye on the AP80, looks to get some very good reviews. My use is primarily to listen to FLAC filesets of live recordings from etree, DaD, TTD, and LL. Also some FLAC or high bitrate MP3s of ripped studio material. I prefer a small physical size, something that can still easily fit in a shirt pocket.

^   The Pioneer sounds great. It has an Onkyo cousin, which is very similar design.
My 1st thought about the HIDIZS is "will there be adequate English language support and software?"
The second was the graphics screen, FM radio, Mountaineer dude, Step Counter, all of which conflicts with my minimalist sensibilities on audio playback.  (more unnecessary stuff = more noise, etc.)

(notice that the icons do not match descriptions?  -  Mountaineer is jogging with a full backpack and Wizards' staff -  @ -  lightning bolt!  lightning bolt !  lightning bolt !!!)
