Post by: OOK on October 23, 2004, 01:03:41 PM
Can this be powered by a ecocharge batt.

6 or 12 volt?
I know its a 9 volt unit but I am hearing stories it can me run on a 6vlt. eco is this true?

From the UA-5 FAQ:

How do I power the UA-5 in the field?

The UA-5 accepts both 9v and 12v.  Most UA-5 owners seem to be running DIY RC battery packs (http://www.taperssection.com/yabbse/index.php?board=14;action=display;threadid=2462) for their power, though some are using DIY (http://www.taperssection.com/yabbse/index.php?board=14;action=display;threadid=2462) or retail SLA battery packs.

I don't believe 6v will cut it.  From what I've read, phantom power goes iffy using 6v.

The supplied AC powersupply feeds 12V.  I have succesfully run my UA5 off 7.2V NiMH and 12v SLAs
