Title: AC adapter for V3??
Post by: ts on August 29, 2005, 11:45:56 AM
I need to run my 6volt V3 with an ac adapter. Can I just go to radio shack and pick up a 6V ac adapter with the right adaptaplug or should I order one from Grace? I do have a 6v 700mA will that one work? I know stupid questions, but I'm an idiot when it comes to electronics.

Call Grace, they will recommend a good AC adaptor.  A friend of mine who borrows my V3 a lot picked one up last year - not sure if it was directly through Grace or they just spec'd one out for him.  He did say Grace recommended battery/DC power for best performance.

it is a switchcraft plug that has been discussed a few times.  try the search.

I called Grace and they recommend using there power supply. For my 6V, it's a 7.5/1.0A. I'm not sure if RS would have that, but Grace's comes with the right plug on the other end(screw on). They didn't say anything about DC being a better power supply, but I'm just using this to run the V3 with phantom on for cable burn in and some local shows were I have access to ac power. thanks.
