Clamp question
« on: February 22, 2013, 11:11:03 PM »
In a certain venue, I want to clamp mics to a particular support, but the supporting structure is a 4" x 6" piece of wood. Too big for a Monfrotto clamp mouth width.
Would optimally like to have a 5/8" male thread able to rotate 90 degrees from the clamp.

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks!

You'll never use the Superclamp again!

and if not that: a standard C-jaw clamp from the hardware store. Maybe two thin pieces of cork to wedge between the clamp and whatever your clamping to (to prevent it from scaring). Then clamp off of that C clamp. Just be real careful about weight.

thanks all, that Matthews clamp looks like it will do the trick!
What would I put on the end of that to get some mic compatible thread mounts on it?

Thanks for the link! If I have to mount the clamp horizontally, what would I put off this 3/8" adapter to offer either a 90 degree bend, or perhaps be able to work a variety of angles off of it?

You can mount it on the stud 2 ways, directly through the bottom or from the side to turn 90*.
