391s or 393s ????

393s all the way then...


really liked my old 391s, but I also tape in bars and would have benifited from the hypers alot

Hey, I'm a slut, I've got both 91 and 93's now.  (Thanks aberg!)

I've had bad luck taping FOB, often near the back of clubs.  I'm finding things sound really muddy, even when using hypers in XY.  So I've been doing a lot of "stack" taping lately.  For that, either cards or hypers work well.  To get close I've either been clamping to a pillar near the stage, or hanging from anything I can find on the ceiling (lighting truss, wires, or whatever :))

But if you can't get near the front, or if the room is particularly bad, by all means get the hypers.

I don't like either the 91's or 93's X/Y...I recommend the 93's DIN (6.5 inches 80-85 degrees) and for the 91's outdoors ORTF all the way.

I agree no XY with the AKG's. Try DIN you'll like it better. I did.

Get the 93's first. You can always pick up the 91's later.
