Of the three, I would say the Olympus LS-100.

The LS-14 is not on the market yet - though I *have* seen and handled it - but it is a low-cost unit compared to the LS-100.

You're kind of comparing apples to oranges to a degree b/w the M10 and the LS100.   The LS100 costs twice as much and has 48V phantom power and XLR inputs.  It has considerably more features, and is larger.

The M10 is a tried and true favorite around here because it's perceived to have good audio quality on the inputs and has demonstrably amazing battery life.  If you don't need all those features that the LS100 has, then the M10 is probably a better choice.

The LS-14 isn't out yet, then I don't think anyone can conclusively say whether it's better than anything.  FWIW, Olympus has been making recorders for a while, yet the vastly more popular models on this board are the Sony M10 and the Roland R-05.  Doesn't necessarily mean their products aren't good, but more people here are experienced with other brands.

I would guess the large vote for the M10 is because that is what those people have and are not familiar with the newer LS-100.

The LS-100 is the top of the range for Olympus and they have superb battery life - the new LS-12/14 have about 50 hours, the larger LS-100 has a 12-hour life.

The LS-100 has internal mics capable of coping with up to 140dB and are better than most built-in mics.

The LS-100 also has a built-in chromatic tuner and a metronome.  It has a built-in 4GB memory as well as using SD cards (so you can still record if you rush out and leave the SD card at home).

I've been browsing the board for some time and looked at the portable sound recorder overview charts etc...
But the more I read the less sure I get.
I'm looking for a portable recorder that is around €100.
With no external mic (I realize that a lot of people advice on doing this, but it's just not an option).
Most important is that I will never use it to record concerts. This is only to record samples to be used in electronic music afterwards.
I really don't require the best of the best. Or at least, I can't afford it .

The Tascam Dr-05 and Yamaha Pocketrak C24 look good.
So did the zoom H1, but people seem to advice against zoom.
Maybe the Sony PCM-M10. But that's already a bit more expensive.

Anything bigger than these and I'll know I'll never have them on me when I need them.

Can somebody tell me what they think of these and which one they would buy?

The Tascam dr5 is what I would go with if you cannot afford the sony

As people have said, take a look around here.  I think you'll see people with an M10 (when they have a small deck) outnumbers the competition about 3-or-4 to 1 (and that's a conservative number).  The M10, even though it's a little pricier, is a great piece of equipment.

currently Dr5 is most value sometimes you get it for 50 Dollars.

Battery Runtime: 5 Sets round 80 minutes incl. PIP, running on eneloops.
