Hey Now !
As for the MiniMe preamp, Yes, I may have neglected to mention that
low gain on the preamp is mandatory, but my position on gain is well
documented, no more than you need. I agree the mic preamp sounds
better with the low gain jumper setting. Too much more than 20 dB of
gain from the built in preamp and the sound becomes, shall we say
less desirable ?
They used a good chip, an instrumentation amp from Burr Brown
(http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/productfolder.jhtml?genericPartNumber=INA163),
as does Grace Design
(http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/productfolder.jhtml?genericPartNumber=INA103),
but Grace did a better job.
One thing is for certain, with the V3, we will NOT get an A/D
converter box with a mic preamp as an add on. That is something to
look forward to !

peace...Doug

I completely agree! Amen!

jpschust:
nope... just a preamp with an a/d add on.  I dont know which way id rather have it

d swing:
Well...by throwing everything in one box there will be comprimises.  I know most won't agree with me on this but if you're gonna be doing 24-bit you can't beat the v2->ad2402-96 (formely known as the ad2k+) combo.  Just my opinion...
