Would these be good for my UA-5?
« on: March 07, 2004, 01:22:38 AM »

Are those pretty much the same as the ones listed on the DIY UA-5 batt page?  Obviously higher capacity, but will the directions be exactly the same, or will the parts needed be different?

How long should I expect these to last?

Thanks for any replies :)

Yes, same, ~5 hrs each (3000mAH capacity / 450mA current draw = 6.6, but you'll never get 100% efficiency, so...~5 hrs is a reasonable estimate).

i also run these with my mini me (rev c so it takes 6-12v) and absolutly love them

do yourself a favor and get that 30$ smart charger, it will be worth it trust me.

i have 3 and i can charge each one in ~1.5 hrs instead of the standard charger that charges at 200mah, the smart charger goes at 2000mah

Just be sure to read the top of the UA-5.
It's positive ring  negative tip.
Totally European.

Tip and ring still messes me up to this day.  Just get your multi-meter and set it to DC and take your working power supply, check the voltage and then make sure your pack spitts out almost the same voltage.  It will either be close or go into the negative.  If it is negative just flip the wires.

Not much too it.  Go spend the $15 on a multi-meter it is worth every cent.
