Title: MT II @ 48k??
Post by: chrisdavis on January 12, 2009, 12:41:08 PM
so, i tested my new (used, thanks Mike) MTII last night.  i wanted to run 24/48.  when i set my record settings, the sample rate i set on "auto" and i cant get it to change.  so, i ended up recording at 24/44.1.  i even had the ua5 set on 48k.

the toggle button is working fine; i can get it to change everything else, just not the sample rate...

what am i doing wrong?

edit:  i may have answered my question.  apparently the sample rate can be changed if the input is 1/8 or 1/4, but s/pdif has to be on auto.  strange.  do this make sense for everyone?

When running digital in, you only choose bit rate.  Sample rate is auto.  Make sure to fire up the MTII after you have the UA-5 running as it wants a signal to lock onto when starting up.   It's possible that you changed the sample rate on the UA-5 after starting up the MTII and it locked to the other sample rate.  If so, it will sound very slow when played back.  You can change the sample rate (header change) to fix it.
