Gotcha. I just don't want to fry anything.
when I connect my 4pin xlr to the wire coming from the adaptaplug
like your picture, which wire is positive?
One has some writing on it, and one is blank.
Either, it depends on which you hook up to the positive pin on the 4-pin XLR. But I think if you want to maintain consistency with the adaptaplug, the wire with white writing is positive, the other negative.
One way to find out for certain is touch the blank wire to your (-) battery lead, the white writing wire to your (+) battery lead (no XLR, no soldering, just hold 'em in place with tape or something), put on the adaptaplug tip per Rick's post, and use your voltmeter to check whether it's tip (+), ring (-) or vice versa. If the adaptaplug (+) is aligned with the (+) on the adaptaplug wiring, your voltmeter should show a positive voltage when touching your voltmeter leads red (+) on tip, black on ring (-).
It's a bit early for me, hope that makes sense!
